Cleveland Opera Theater, Cleveland’s Premiere Opera Company offers a one night only extravaganza concert performance of overtures, arias, duets, and choral numbers from favorite operas.


Featuring: Metropolitan Opera Soprano and Northeast Ohio native, Jennifer Rowley, acclaimed tenor, John Pickle, audience favorite baritone, Young-Kwang Yoo, and Maestro Domenico Boyagian and the Cleveland Opera Theater Orchestra.  Presented in Collaboration with the Cleveland Chamber Choir.

Soprano Jennifer Rowley is acclaimed worldwide for her unforgettable voice and remarkable stage presence, singing a richly varied repertoire that includes many of opera’s greatest heroines. In the 2019/20 season, Ms. Rowley adds two Verdi roles to her growing list of repertoire and she makes two highly anticipated house debuts: first at the National Theatre Prague as Amelia from Verdi’s Un ballo in maschera, and then at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona in the title role of Verdi’s Aida.

She returns to the Metropolitan Opera to reprise two of her signature Puccini roles: the title role of Tosca, and Musetta in La Bohème. She also sings Tosca for Opera San Antonio, making her house debut, and ends her season making her greatly anticipated house and role debut at Opera Australia as Elizabeth I from Donizetti’s Roberto Devereux. In future seasons, she will make debuts at The Dallas Opera, Opernhaus Zürich, and Opéra de Marseille.

This is Jennifer's Cleveland Opera Theater debut performance.

Baritone Young Kwang Yoo, was praised by Opera News for "Vocal dexterity and outstanding Italian diction.", "Mr. Yoo showcased a rich, reverberant baritone."  Of his portrayal of Sharpless, The New York Times wrote “His solid baritone voice and stolid bearing suited Sharpless.”   Roles include Rigoletto (Rigoletto), La Bohème(Marcello), Lakmé (Frederic), Luisa Miller (Miller), Le Nozze di Figaro(Il Conte). Mr. Yoo’s oratorio work includes appearances at the Symphony hall in Boston as Adam in Haydn’s Creation. He also performed as a baritone soloist in Orff’s Carmina Burana at the Alice Tully hall in Lincoln Center in New York City and at the concert hall in Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. and Faure’s Requiem with the Goyang Civic Choir in Korea He is 1st place winner in Osaka International Competition hosted in Japan and the Grand Prize of Opera Division in the 2019 Metropolitan International Vocal Competition.

Previous Cleveland Opera Theater credits include, Madama Butterfly (Sharpless), La Bohème( Marcello) and Il Barbiere di Siviglia (Figaro) which was hailed by the Cleveland Classical for "Baritone Young Kwang Yoo brought an ultimate suavity, and a special combination of tone and power to Figaro."

Young-Kwang Yoo

Tenor John Pickle quickly has established himself as a strong tenor, most recently for his portrayals of Erik in Der fliegende Holländer, a role he débuted with Los Angeles Opera. In recent seasons, Mr. Pickle also enjoyed performances as Erik with Mobile Opera, Utah Festival Opera, and Michigan Opera Theatre. Last season, Pickle joined the esteemed roster of Lyric Opera of Chicago for their production of Norma. 
This season, Pickle performs Cavaradossi in Tosca with Nashville Opera, Pollione in Norma with Opera Southwest, and Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly with Cleveland Opera Theater. He will also sing the tenor solo in Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 with The Orchestra Now at Bard College and Verdi’s Requiem with Dayton Opera, DCINY in Barcelona, and the Akron Symphony.  John made his Cleveland Opera Theater debut as B. F. Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly.
